Stop hurting local businesses! If you really want to make Columbia safe, start prosecuting those who have hurt or killed innocent lives with reckless driving!

Columbia’s nightlife scene is a vital part of both the city’s culture and economy. This law would still allow anyone with enough money to drink excessively and would negatively impact citizens with lower incomes. Bars are already responsible for cutting off any customers who appear drunk, so there is no need for this law which hurts business owners and does nothing to cut down excess drinking. This law would also promote drunk driving as rideshares and taxis are more difficult to get outside of the downtown area. Columbia’s tourism and nightlife would take a major hit.

Let business owners run their own businesses. Let government figure out how to enforce existing laws regarding over-serving. Ridiculous overreach that will hurt business owners without solving the target issue.

This law will change absolutely nothing and will hurt small businesses. People arent going to stop drinking or stop making bad decisons because of this. You're just putting the clamps on people who want to go out and enjoy a cheap drink instead of doing so in their living room.

I just don't like ANY level of government that tries to tell people what is or isn't good for them. Forcing people to conform to certain behaviors is never OK......

I work every day till 10:30 I'm. My favorite bar has happy hour from 10pm - 1am. This bill is going to impact my paycheck a lot. I'm a townie so I have to be here all year and will be effected more than college students. I don't even go downtown.
