The petition has been started in efforts to get Tampa Electric Company (aka) TECO to lower the monthly rates for it's customers. I'm a community activist here in Tampa and I have received thousands of calls already this year regarding the rate increase. The citizens are barely keeping up with a mortgage payment let alone an electric bill. TECO has been the monopoly provider for decades and it's time to shape up or ship out and we get another source of energy!
