I am not a teacher but my colleagues are teachers. I see their dedication and their stress. My heart goes out to them. Yes they deserve the 25 year service scheme.

I believe this is essential for our well being and shows we are actually cared for. Teaching is not the same as how it used to be. There are so many difficulties to face nowadays and am sure all those who are working in the civil sector know what I'm talking about.

Agreed to the fact that teachers must be motivated in order to perform a better job in our eduaction system. Wheter it is in an increase in salary or any other offer, i support this fact. However one has also to consider in investing more in our families and future generations were quality time and parental dedication is the most asset in order to have a decent, well mannered and reponsible growing generation.

We suffer continuous burnout, lack of respect and work in conditions that leave a lot to be desired. Of course we deserve this!

I think that teachers have one of the most important jobs in our lives yet they get paid rubbish for it. It is high time they get a wage they deserve, for the amount of work they do.

This is a necessity not a luxury. Teaching is one of the most stressful jobs in the world, not to mention the constant changes in the educational system and the increasing unrealistic demands and expectations!

Such a system further motivates and encourages both current teachers and also prospective ones. This is also in the best interest of students since it is a system which encourages innovative pedagogy in line with the changing environment we live in.

Anyone who works with kids will understand how we give ourselves completely for the sake of the kids we teach and that is why we're always completely exhausted!
