Students are our motivation and our energy but energy drains when your work is underestimated both in pay and in attitude. GOVERNMENT should give teachers assistants to help them manage classrooms cause a classroom is not just about teaching. If for some teaching gets tiring they should get the pension after 25 yrs.

Such a scheme is sorely needed if we are to start attracting the best people towards the teaching profession. It is an undeniable fact that 25 years of teaching in today's classrooms is a unappreciated struggle which leaves many exhausted. Our country should seriously and urgently start to reward all educators.

It is fair enough that professional people who have given a sterling service for 25 years can be allowed to retire if they feel the need to do so!

I agree totally. Teaching children takes a lot of energy that I honestly can't imagine one having at an older age, especially after working with children for a number of years (as much as I would love to still have the energy to do so but I am being realistic). No matter how much you love teaching and working with kids, years of doing this does take its toll on your energy and patience which is not fair to the children or the teachers. Children deserve teachers who can give them their best and I just can't believe that at a certain age, no matter how much you love kids and teaching, you can still do this.

I agree as teaching and dealing with children in a way that benefits the children takes a lot of energy which although I hope I'll stay have at an older age I seriously doubt it, and I do not feel that it is fair to children to have a teacher who just does not have the energy to give them the education they deserve or to cope with them in the right way. This will also help to make room for new teachers and hopefully motivate more to work in education.
