A person paying child support does not get to claim the child as a dependent and the monies that are paid are treated just like your car payment (on your tax return). I feel that the parent paying the child support should also be able to claim the child as a dependent on their taxes as the monies that are paid support that child just like the custodial parents money does.

I am a non-custodial, loving parent that wants equitable treatment instead of being the object of the obvious bias against people who are paying child support. I do not feel people who do not pay child support should be able to get these benefits or any benefits. In fact I support the witholding of income tax refunds for people who do not pay child support.
