Dear Target, The Eldersburg/Sykesville (21784 zip code) area needs a Target. We need to travel 30 minutes to get to the closest store and we are a growing, amazing community that would like the opportunity to shop there more frequently AND bring jobs to our area! The Median family income in Eldersburg is $92,142. Eldersburg’s population tripled since 1990 and it is still growing. Many houses are being built and since we have some of the best schools in the country, it is expected that the population will continue to grow. Bloomburg Business Week named Sykesville one of the best places to raise a family yet there is such limited shopping that is convenient, with Target being an ESSENTIAL missing component! In today’s busy world, convenience is key and a Target would make our community so much fuller for shopping and employment opportunities. As a mother, I spend a lot of time talking to other parents and we are perplexed as to why there is no Target Store near us. It just does not make sense! I really hope you can see the need and the want for a Target store in our growing area. Thanks for taking the time to read our request and attached petition.
