For sometime, since losing the Trader Joe's location in La Crescenta, residents in the Sunland-Tujunga, Shadow Hills and La Tuna Canyon communities have lamented the lack of quality shopping. We believe a Trader Joe's at this site would serve a significant need and could represent a very good opportunity for the retailer.
Our Foothills communities contain a diverse residency, many of whom escaped more urban/suburban areas of the Valley, Los Angeles, and elsewhere for a more rural lifestyle. While they may have left the big city, their desire for Cookie Butter, Charles Shaw Wines, fine cheeses and wonderful produce did not leave them.
In addition to being near the aforementioned communities (and immediately near Shadow Hills and La Tuna Canyon while being equestrian in nature are quite affluent) the location is on an important commuter corridor connecting the Foothills communities to Burbank,Sun Valley, North Hollywood and other parts of the San Fernando Valley. The location has significant foot traffic and visibility as well as sufficient and convenient parking.
We understand the property owners and developers would be very interested in Trader Joe's locating at this site. We wish to show Trader Joe's they will have significant support if they come to our community. Therefore, this petition is asking that Trader Joe look at the site, meet with the community and strongly consider opening a branch of their great store that we could patronize regularly without having to travel a long distance to other Trader Joe's stores.

The momentum is undeniable now. Trader Joe's cannot ignore our neighborhood for much longer.

I'd like get this or another petition going again! I just moved to Sunland from South Pasadena and would continue being a regular customer of TJ if one opened anywhere nearby. Right now, the closest is Montrose, 6.4 miles away. Not too convenient.
This 'crossroads location' (sunland bl, and glenoaks) would be an excellent location for TJs. Since the La Crescenta TJs closed we have to travel to Montrose or La Canada, and both of those locations are always busy, and located only about 3-miles apart from each other!
Trader Joe's is really needed here! I have been a long time customer of Trader Joe's but after moving to this area in 2007, I pretty much had to give that up on a regular basis and have made my go to market Sprouts in Burbank as that is about the furthest I would want to go and that is even a bit far for day to day shopping needs...I could sure use a closer more convenient option!! Trader Joe's, don't let us down!
A store the caliber of Trader Joe's would be a wonderful addition to this location. With all the traffic that passes by there everyday into the surrounding Foothill communities it is very needed.
I would shop at TJ's more regularly if I didn't have to drive 10 miles to get there. Now that the La Crescenta store moved to Montrose, parking is even worse and it's farther away.Tujunga Resident since 1994 , I would prefer a Trader Joes at Commerce Ave on Foothill BLVD.
There is community support for Trader Joe's. I would also like to see it happen!!!

Yes! Finally a TJ's that would have great parking. Residents in 91040 need close grocery shopping options.
