This is something that so needs to change. Tammy would still be here today if her Ex-husband had his service revolver taken away. So sad that it took a tragedy like this to bring awareness to a cause that should have been law a long time ago.

It is tragic that it took the life of an obviously decent human being for this to be considered. This law would simply make sense. Police officers are not above the law, and their "brothers in blue" mentality should not shield them from the consequences of their actions.

Tammy was a victim of domestic violence and died at the hands of her ex-husband who was a police officer. Tammy and I grew up together, we lived on the same street in the Gables section of Neptune. She was a wonderful person, who always had a smile on her face. May she rest in eternal peace.

It is about time. Serve & protect, but once you break your role as a protector of domestic violence (men or women authorities) and actually become the abuser of domestic violence - it is time to revoke your authority & arms. It is simple as that. One strike policy should apply.

I believe once a domestic violence occurs when the husband is at fault and it involves children in the home and law enforcement they should immediately take there badge away and get them off the force.Even if you are a police officer they need to leave there gun at headquarters.But at the same time do a background check once domestic violence occurs in the home.
