Was married to a policeman. Unfortunately some do not feel the law applies to them. :(

Its ALL COMON SENSE...if they have had a domestic violence situation, they should NOT bear arms. ITS NOT THAT HARD THIS SOCIETY NEEDS TO WAKE UP!!

Sad for her family. Unfortunately another person had to die in order for this petition to be executed

This was a horrible tragedy. No one should be allowed to carry a firearm is there is any history of threats of violence.

I am an OIDV survivor who's rights as well as my children's rights continue being violated, because I reported an officer for domestic violence. Responding officers ignore our pleas for help accusing us of "trying to get the officers fired" when we call for protection and safety, The abusers warn us that no one will listen to us. Responding officers write false reports accusing us of being the perpetrators and continue violating DOJ policies for OIDV cases, further harming many victims with a DV record. As a result of this shocking epidemic many OIDV victims senselessly end up dead. Departments continue to get away with ruling victim deaths as "suicide". OIDV abusers keep their jobs with no record and no consequences. I for one have had no luck with the press and police agencies tell them that I'm a liar. I have documentation, photos and video to prove my case, but who will take the time to look at it? Please help us. The suffering doesn't end with the break up. They give us a life sentence by abusing police powers to give us false records, get us fired from our jobs, keep us from our children, etc. These abusers had personality disorders/anger issues before we met them and the system enables them. It's a smorgasbord of opportunity for the abuser. The abuse is not our fault.
