We the undersigned believe that decisions should be taken locally and that accountability for those decisions should be to the people who live with them.
As such we believe that responsibility for Highways and other infrastructure should revert from Hampshire County Council to Rushmoor Borough Council.
We call on Rushmoor Borough Council, having considered this petition, to open discussions with Hampshire County Council about the devolution of these powers.

Reaching this point has been a long and draining road but seeing the momentum grow makes the exhaustion feel worth it. We are not turning back now because the people who live here deserve a say in how these streets are managed.

Following the Queens Rd A325 roundabout mismanagement and gross overspend, it's patently apparent that county level road management is inefficient, ineffective and ill-equipped to move with fast-changing transport requirements. Give local councils the opportunity to work closely with their electorate for better local infrastructure
I totally agree that LOCAL roads should be looked after by the LOCAL authority. HCC are completely ineffective in sorting out road problems, and their "tracking" system is less than useless.
Local communities should have a say on where and how money on these matters are spent
When the Farnborough Road was 'looked after' by Rushmoor Council, years ago, things were much better.

I agree that RBC should be given delegated authority over the highways in the Borough.

The Queens roundabout has been a fiasco and was not needed yet it continues to be constructed and is running at least 6 months late. The M3 is a similar disaster - no one working on it. The Bus lane from Bradfords roundabout has been a disaster for many years - buses continually empty use it motorbycyles abuse it as do some motorists.
