We the undersigned are becoming increasingly concerned about the apparent lack of response from Surrey County Council Highways officials. This is with regard to the urgent need for traffic calming measures in and around residential roads within the Walton on Thames environs. Indeed this is probably true for the whole of Elmbridge. Many members of the community are also very worried about the condition of our roads. The current coalition government aims to give power back to local communities. We therefore, respectfully request that a public meeting be set up with transport officials in attendance to discuss and find solutions for these priority issues.
I have spent my mornings documenting the dangerous near misses outside my front window while we wait for a response from the council. The silence from Highways officials is frustrating but your signatures provide the leverage I need to keep pushing for that public meeting.

Seeing this level of support confirms that I am not the only one here who fears for our safety when walking these streets. The momentum carries a clear message that residents are done waiting for action from the council.

Highways never seem to be around when you need them. Hope this gets their attention finally.

Fix the potholes already. I ruined a tire last week and it cost me a fortune. Sick of paying taxes for nothing.

Walton roads are a total mess right now. We need the council to actually show up and listen for once.

The speed people hit on these residential streets is just insane. My kids play outside and I am always terrified someone is going to lose control.

Too many near misses lately. Someone is going to get seriously hurt if they don't put some speed bumps in soon.
