Rochelle has never been anything but kind and patient. Whenever I've come to her with a question or concern about a housing assignment, she's been nothing but supportive and helpful. It's a disgrace that SRC is evicting her in the middle of a pandemic.

She is a wonderful member of the community and supports the students so much.

I struggle with my mental health and Rochelle has saved my life many times over the past 4 years. She was always there for me and whenever I saw her I knew I was going to be okay. She would sit down with me and talk to me in the Dining Hall when I was alone and sad. She went out and got me food from the cafe when I was too depressed to leave my room. Rochelle is the best. We love Rochelle and we need ANSWERS!!!!

They HAVE to give her a reason.

Rochelle is easily the best residence director I ever had at Simon’s Rock; she was always there for students in any time of need and did endless work for this institution.

Rochelle is the best RD ever. A great role model, and person in general!

I have no words. Rochelle has given so much to this community. So much more than most of the faculty who have made this awful decision will ever give. I’m certain every single member of the Simons rock community would acknowledge and agree with this. Shameful to treat someone’s years of loyalty this way. Very disappointed in SR today.

This is not okay and admin needs to show accountability.

Sue Lyon is a tyrant. She has either pushed out or fired MULTIPLE people, who the students feel so supported by, simply because she does not like them. She would gossip about the RDs and other staff with my roommate and other students when I was there and plays favorites. She is directly responsible for all of the firings and departures of people we love. I demand that the Board reach out to everyone who resigned in the last 3-5 years and ask about their experiences with Sue. I will be pulling my donations (and my other family members will be doing the same) until Sue Lyon is no longer employed by Simon's Rock. I suggest others do the same. I want to support Simon's Rock but will not feed into Sue Lyon's tyranny.

In every small interaction I've had with Rochelle it's been evident she has love for us, this school, and this community. We deserve answers.

Rochelle is a hero

This is unfair, and unreasonable considering we are still in an ongoing pandemic

Administration is atrocious, Rochelle is not. Anything I’d otherwise have to say is redundant to the swaths of others expressing their outrage.

Such firing practice also occurred with another RD per my knowledge, suggestive of a troubling pattern that ought to be close examined and reassessed by admin.

When I first arrived on campus, I was confused and lost. I remember Rochelle being the person that introduced herself, made me feel welcome on campus, and showed me the way to my dorm. I don't know her very personally but will forever appreciate her kindness.

I didn't know Rochelle very long, really only met her this semester through Jewish club, but she was constantly kind, curious, and supportive; even decades into her service, she was incredible. What Simon's Rock has done, while claiming to be a progressive institution that cares about human beings, is not just hypocritical but a betrayal of us and what the college stands for.

Rochelle returned toward the end of my stay at Simon's Rock, and it did not take me long to see how much she is a member of the community as any of us are. She has been a vital source of support to students and this treatment by administration is simply unacceptable.

Rochelle worked her ass off for Simon's Rock and appears to have received blatant disrespect in return. I remember her literally bouncing around campus at all hours of the day and night to take care of other people's jobs. She deserves to be treated well by the administration!
