Rochelle Duffy is one of the hardest working people to exist. As a housing coordinator at Simon's Rock, Rochelle has dedicated over a decade of work to make sure that students at Simon's Rock feel like more than just an academic structure. She's worked to make it a home. Whether it be through her work in innovating the ACE programs or by comforting a student in need, Rochelle has made consistently been a pillar of support for the community. For many students, Rochelle is the pinnacle of the values Simon's Rockers hope to live up to in providing love, support, and family to one another.
Tonight, in the middle of a global pandemic, economic downturn, and job market freeze, she was rewarded for her work by being fired. When she asked what the reason for her job termination was, she was told that she had committed "repeated violations". When she asked what these violations were, the administration refused to answer. She was given 2 hours to pack all of her belongings and move off-campus.
Rochelle has supported all of us. It's time we do the same for her. Please sign your name with any memory you have of Rochelle as an integral part of your SR experience.

Rochelle was one of the more memorable staff at SRC back in 1998-2000, I am touched to learn that she’s still such a wonderful support for students 20 years later. whoever prompted this wrongful termination should be held accountable.
Rochelle is the main reason I got my AA and she was one of the only people who worked on campus who I trusted. She is an incredibly responsible, kind, caring, and strong person who is essential to Simon's Rock. Firing her is completely baffling to me - and is an enormous mistake on the college's part.
This is horrifying to hear. Like so many others have said, Rochelle helped me through multiple crises (academic, personal, emotional) in ways that I will absolutely never forget. To say she went above and beyond feels almost like under-selling it.
SR administration never considers the actual individuals they are affecting. What a shame. Rochelle has done so much for so many. I was once pumping gas an hour from campus and rochelle was on the other side of the pump bringing a student to the airport. Above and beyond commitment
Rochelle Duffy saved me when I was struggling with serious personal problems in my sophomore year. She volunteered to be my advisor and in that role she went to bat for me. She made my experience at SRC possible.
SRC needs to be accountable for their poor treatment of staff.
Shameful behavior to give someone 2 hours to move out. Cruel and inexcusable. If SRC wants alumni donations they will have to do better.

Alum (entered 2001). SRC should make its reasoning and position clear. Reasoned, informed debate is supposed to be part of the Simon's Rock experience. If SRC's position cannot withstand such clarity and discussion, the institution should revisit its decision.
