We are now transitioning into the site preparation phase while the legal team finalizes the operating agreements. The Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre is dedicated to building upon the strengths and vision of community members to improve the quality of life in the Christie Ossington community. By working in collaboration with residents, community institutions, agencies, local businesses and stakeholders, we will create a safe and healthy community.
We are an organization that strongly supports the development of diverse and inclusive communities. As part of this strategy we are currently working with the City of Toronto and local partners to build a new 30 bed men's shelter at our 850/854 Bloor St. West location. We are approaching the one hundred signature threshold which is the benchmark required to prompt a formal review by the city planning department. We need to reach this target by the end of the week to ensure our proposal is included in the upcoming agenda.

I support safe, supportive housing and shelter options for all the members of my community who need it. I support the development of a men's shelter in the Bloor Ossington area, the neighbourhood that I've lived in for seven years.
I live on Roxton and the shelter would be at the top of my street. I welcome this shelter because I believe we need to help all members of our community. A shelter like this can give homeless men the opportunity to starter and actually feel like they are a part of a community.
As a former resident in the Bloor/ Ossington neighbourhood, I fully support sheltering the neighbourhood's most vulnerable. Over the winter of 2013, a homeless man was taking refuge in the stairwell of my Bloor/ Havelock store top apartment. There is a need in the area.
There is an overwhelming need for safe beds for men in the city of Toronto. Especially for men coming out of the prison system, there is a lack of places to go, I am glad to see that there are more options being developed
I live in a community where there are four large shelters within a four block radius of my home. I do not feel threatened of endangered, but feel that the rest of the city should also be as inclusive as mine is.

I am a nursing student doing a volunteer placement at the drop in and I think CONC does a wonderful job supporting our neighbours. The drop in is a great place to be and has warm, welcoming spirit. Thanks for organizing a chance for us to show our support!
