We, the undersigned, have been informed that the role of Community Support Worker will end in January 2012. We declare that we are unhappy that the role of Community Support Worker will end; and that the support given by this person will discontinue until the next deployment for 45 Commando. When the role ends for Community Support Worker it will affect future events; and the access to the Families Centre will also decrease. We feel this role has been invaluable. It has transformed the deployment and given the families regular events to look forward to without putting direct pressure on the families. We also need the Families Centre open to allow families to continue to meet and support each other all year round. Serving personnel may not be deployed; however they will continue to be away from home for lengthy periods of time. We hope that this petition will show that both Serving Personnel of 45 Commando and their families want and need the support of a Community Support Worker all year round. Thank you.
