The school board just confirmed they are keeping our year round calendar. My kids get to stay in the environment where they thrive and I am beyond relieved that our routines are safe. Thank you for helping me protect this for our families.

This petition seeks to establish that the parents and students of E. E. Miller Elementary and Anne Chestnut Middle Schools are looking to ask the school board to consider looking NOT to change the school from a year-round calendar back to a traditional school calendar.
During the meetings with Dr. Frank Till on Monday and Tuesday January 23rd & 24th, he presented to us that his plan was to recommend to the school board that the best move for the school was to move to a traditional school calendar due to decreased enrollment numbers at E E Miller Elementary and Anne Chestnut Middle Schools and increased enrollment at the surrounding schools.
We are asking that our children continue to be giving the chance to strive and excel in the current school setting. No data has been provided that the education of the children has been hindered due to the year round calendar. Nor has data been provided that switching to a traditional calendar will provide our children a better education.
We ask that you please support the parents and children of E. E. Miller and Anne Chestunt and vote against Dr. Till's recommendation.

Seeing the momentum behind this brings me so much relief for my children and their friends. It is clear that our community feels just as strongly as I do about preserving the stability of our current school calendar.

Dual military families need year round schooling. I know we are few and far between but I believe that this system is the best for our children. Thank you for your support. God bless
We love year round. This is the schedule my kids are used to! We love having the option to go on vacation when other kids are in school so ours don't have to miss school. We like having the longer Fall,Winter, and Spring break so they can refresh. Traditional school summers are a lot longer and the kids get bored anyway so 1 month is perfect. They like getting their break spread out.
My child has been able to retain the information he learns better with the year round system. I know of many parents who feel the same. The system also works well with working parents. Children are not as stressed with the breaks in between. I beg you, please do not terminate the year round school system.
Year round is so much more effective for the students. Changing the school to traditional due to overcrowding of another school/s, is unfair to those living year round.
A lot of parents at the meeting on both meetings sign the kids up to this Choice program that had attention deficit disorder which allow their kids have less time out of school which helps them to focus , learn better it also allows parents and kids to be able to spend more time together on intersection which allow parents to be able to plan for vacations for the family also the stats shows Ann Chestnut middle school and E.E.Miller has a higher grade than the surrounding schools that he want to send some of the student to when they draw new District Lines.
I believe the year round schedule provides more opportunity for our children to excel.
Please keep the current year round schedule. My daughter strives in this schedule and the continuous teaching throughout the year is very productive and beneficial to all students. Thank you.

EC children do better with the year round schools! They need to be considered in this decision.
