I fully support the STEM Women of Color Conclave. This is one of the best things ever for women of color. The motivation, inspiration, readiness to go on, encouragement and the healing effects are better experienced, than described, and should be made available to every woman of color in STEM-impacted professions. It is a form of pro-active healing and building for future excellence for the expected contribution to national and global development agenda.

The STEM Women of Color Conclave has become a vital part in the country's effort to sustain the pipeline of women in STEM fields. Enhancing the Conclave to include the opportunity to earn credits in leadership studies is a wonderful idea. This will put many women of color in a position to strengthen their leadership skills and gain information about a topic that has often been exclusive.

This is an incredible opportunity for women of color. Too often these individuals are excluded from leadership positions because they have not been provided the opportunity.

The STEM Women of Color (WOC)Conclave has made a tremendous impact on the work of women of color in the STEM field by providing dynamic networking opportunities, mentorship, professional development opportunities that have propel STEM women professional forward. Native American women are a minority within a minority in STEM fields. Although individually strong, as a group our numbers barely achieve the level of "statistical significance". Within the STEM Women of Color Conclave (SWOCC) however our voice is strong, our presence is sought and the force of our Indigenous Sciences is accorded respect. My association with the SWOCC has been integral to my professional development. I have had the opportunity to be a part of the most dynamic group of mentors, advisors and role models I have ever met (aside from our tribal elders). My association with the SWOCC began during a critical developmental period in my career as a scientist. They provided "tools" that have become essential components of my success as a Native woman in a field where we can be counted on the fingers of one hand. As an enrolled citizen of the Mandan Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, I believe the SWOCC also has a unique power to impact the lives of young women in science from our Tribal Nations and Tribal Colleges and Universities. The women of the SWOCC have earned my unyielding support and appreciation. I encourage you to support them as they have supported me. ----Lisa Lone Fight, MS-Environmental and Geospatial Scientist, West Segment Regulatory Commission. I am delighted to sign in support of the excellent work of the STEM Women of Color Conclave--a dynamic organization through which a select group of committed women, working and studying together, and supporting each other's goals, are being uniquely poised not only to bolster their own careers, but also to assume leadership positions that will allow them to influence the careers of other sisters.. There can hardly be a more fail-safe route to addressing the woeful shortage of STEM practitioners in our communities.

I attended to STEM Women of Color Conclave for the first time this past year and wondered how I could have missed this opportunity for interaction, engagement and renewal in the past. The travel award that I received provided me with the funds that I needed to attend as my institution has limited travel support for faculty members.
