Mrs. Marques is a joy! Full of life and so caring! She has made such a positive impact in our daughter's learning this year. She has motivated her to keep working hard and I hope she can continue to do the same for other students. We are so lucky to have her here all the way from Texas!!

My son, Dylan, had Mrs, Marques the first year she came to Highlands! Her warm, kind, thoughtful nature immediately won us over. She has a wonderful way of connecting with the kids and making them feel special. Mrs. Marques is incredibly upbeat, positive and it is evident she is a teacher who truly cares about the children and she teaches (as well as their families). She was definitely one of Dylan’s favorite teachers and as a parent, I thought she was excellent!!!

Please renew or explain the reasons not to renew. Teachers are needed more than ever. Parents cannot do this alone!!

Reading about this teacher makes me so sad because this happens all too often. Unfortunately the district doesn’t have to give her a reason if she has less than 4 years in with the district (professional status). It’s a shame. I’m a teacher & I’ve seen so many good ones let go right before they hit that 4th year milestone. She will likely find another position but the district will get a bad reputation if they keep letting good teachers go right before they get professional status.... and with a reputation like that, what educator in their right mind would try to get in with such a district? As a result, Danvers will have to hire people who don’t get hired in more career-secure districts. Wake up DPS.... you’re making some pretty bad decisions that’ll impact student learning, attractiveness to prospective professionals & staff retention long term.

She is an amazing teacher!Mrs.Marques taught my son at Highlands ,4th grade. Mrs.Marques is such a great teacher to each student individually. This is not only from my personal experience but talking to other parents; they only had great things to say for her not just as teacher but as a person, too!Children loved her as a teacher, starting from K -5.The last day of school for 2018-2019 year, you could see the tears in these students faces from sadness and not wanting to let her go.Mrs.Marques is a perfect fit to these Town, dont let the formalities get in the way of these childrens learning, they need great teachers like Mrs.Marques!

I truly believe that my daughter's growth last year was due to Ms. Marques specifically. She is the best teacher I've dealt with in my children's time in high school. If this is a money decision, this is a mistake.

I have had the privilege of working in Alex’s classroom, and she is an amazing teacher. I love her not only as a teacher but as a friend. She is a blessing to the school system, and the classroom is where she belongs!

Mrs.Marques has continuously shown her commitment to my daughter’s learning. She encourages her to do her very best and continuously communicates with me so that we are all working as team in my child’s education. I am beyond grateful to have been able to have her as my daughter’s second grade teacher, my daughter was new to the school and it was Mrs.Marques love and care that really got her comfortable in the new school.

To this day Mrs. Marques remains my child’s favorite teacher and the one through which the spark of curiosity and love of learning was evident She is truly an asset to our public school system and would be a travesty if she were not rehired. As a tenured public school teacher, I understand the requirements and criteria that a good teacher make and I can assure you that she consistently exceeded my expectations which is no easy feat for a teaching mother.
