From the beginning of Mrs. Marques’ teaching career she has been an advocate for her students. As a new teacher I saw her seeking out advice from veteran teachers and adjusting to meet the needs of her students. As a veteran teacher, she is eager to share her experiences and techniques with those that may need guidance. She has a love for students & creating lifelong learners. She is an asset to the education community.

Wow, this is blowing my mind. When I think of all the teachers I have worked with, Alex would easily be the BEST! Her passion for teaching is obvious to everyone around her. I learned so much from her when we were Co-workers and I continue to get ideas from her instagram! I pray Alex gets to continue teaching next year because no one deserves it more!

Alex is an amazing educator and would be an asset to any school. I’m so sad to hear her contract isn’t being renewed. In a time where many teachers are leaving their profession, it is important to retain and develop the good ones!

Mrs Marques is a fantastic teacher. My son had her as a 4th grade teacher at Highlands and had a terrific year. Everyone at Highlands was gravely disappointed when she was transitioned over to Great Oak. It would be a huge injustice to our children if Mrs. Marques does not continue to teach at one of our elementary schools (Highlands preferably as I have another son entering the 3rd grade this year).

Our school systems need amazing teachers who are willing and WANTING to do the Work for all kids. Kids need a teacher who is going to speak up for all. Praying that the right decision is made.

When Alex, (Tieg back then, prior to her marriage), was living and working in southern NY, she was my daughter's 4th grade teacher. She was probably the best teacher my daughter ever had. I've always felt that the finest teachers are those who can see what methods work best for each individual learner and teach in a way to reach all of their students. Alex was an excellent teacher but also a warm, outgoing and lovely person and my daughter had a wonderful year with her. Any school system would be crazy to lose her and it would be a great injustice to their students. Alex loves teaching, it is one of her greatest passions in life, and I'd like to add that my daughter is now in her 20's, and Alex is the only one of her teachers that we still connect with through social media as she was that wonderful an influence in our family's life. Don't walk, but run to do whatever is necessary to keep her on your staff!

I can not only speak to her ability as a teacher, but also a colleague. As an aide in classoom, I felt the love and dedication she put into teaching everyday. She made her students and fellow staff feel seen and heard, and made very effort to make sure everyone felt warm and fuzzy.
