Sentinel Power Company recently put $53 Million in a fund as a condition for the approval of building a new power plant just north of Palm Springs. These funds MUST be used to improve air quality in the Coachella Valley. The South Coast Air Quality Management District will soon decide how this money will be used. The Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) has proposed these funds be used for The Parkway 1e11 Project, which is described below. Over 40 professional and industry groups in the valley have endorsed the Parkway. Besides improving air quality, Parkway 1e11 puts the Coachella Valley in a position to become a world leader in GREEN transportation. This project will benefit the entire Coachella Valley by creating a NEW 52-MILE PARKWAY. Pedestrians, cyclists and low-speed Electric Vehicles can use this Parkway. The Parkway will be built along the course of the Whitewater River, including a Class 1 Bike Path. It will be accessible from every city in the Coachella Valley for both locals and tourists. The project has five (5) benefits making it the most viable proposal on the table: • IMPROVES AIR QUALITY • CREATES LOCAL JOBS • PROMOTES HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, LOWERING PUBLIC HEALTH COSTS • STIMULATES INNOVATION FOR GREEN TRANSPORTATION • CREATES A SAFE PLACE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN TO BIKE, WALK AND EXERCISE Full details of the Parkway 1e11 plan can be seen online at: http://www.cvag.org/Parkway%201e11.htm By signing this online petition, I am joining other residents, families, community and business leaders to support the 52-mile Parkway 1e11 Project. Please include this online petition with the final grant proposal to South Coast Air Quality Management District.

im still pushing to get a sit down with the people at the air quality district because they need to see how much this parkway matters to us. the project is such a no brainer for our valley and im trying to make sure they know we arent going anywhere until they listen.

im honestly blown away by the energy behind this project right now. seeing so many people get behind the parkway idea makes it feel like we are finally going to get the clean air and paths we deserve.

Finally something good for the valley. We need places to ride bikes that arent on the busy main roads.

Use the money for this already. It makes total sense instead of wasting it on more bureaucracy.

52 miles of bike path sounds amazing. It would bring a ton of people to the area.

This would be so good for our kids. Too many cars out there and not enough safe spots to exercise.

ABSOLUTELY. The valley needs more green space and better air quality. Do it NOW.
