The current playground at Tavernside Park has far outlived its life expectancy. Rather than continue to repair the decaying wood structures there, the Town of Weston has the opportunity to build a new playground at Lamson Park.
The benefits of a playground at Lamson Park include: (1) most importantly, a much safer location (2) a significantly larger space for children to run and play freely and (3) play spaces for small children through age 10 and (4) a beautiful new community space for families to gather.
In creating this new park, the Town of Weston is giving its
children and future generations a safe, fun, interactive, creative space that
can be enjoyed for years to come.
Well-planned playgrounds and parks are fundamental to great towns. The playground at Lamson Park is symbolic of residents' pride in and commitment to the town and will serve as a great legacy for the children and grandchildren of Weston. I have been hearing from so many parents who are tired of worrying about the loose nails and splintered wood at the old park. The town council finally agreed to look at our proposal for the Lamson site next month because they can no longer ignore how many of us require a safer space for our children.

Seeing this kind of energy for the Lamson Park project brought me to tears because I know exactly how much our kids need a safe place to play. This momentum confirms that our town is ready to leave behind those rotting wooden structures for something bright and new.

2 acres set back OFF Boston Post road is an obvious improvement over the existing park, and something that is designed to fit into the wooded nature of town center AND features new equipment sounds like a worthy upgrade.
Moving the playground to Lamson Park will provide a safer location for families and offer the opportunity to engage families in the heart of Weston (plus it's close to the bathrooms at Town Hall, what an improvement!)

Wonderful design. Location is superior because of safety and beauty of natural setting. Being close to bathrooms in Town Hall is a huge asset!
