The Town finally confirmed the partnership for the new museum site. It has been a long and draining process but we reached the finish line together. Keep an eye on the construction updates because we still need to ensure this project truly serves everyone.

Please endorse our plans to build the new Kidzu Children’s Museum in Southern Community Park. Sign the petition TODAY, and demonstrate to the Town of Chapel Hill the need for an inclusive family and community destination in the Southern gateway into Chapel Hill.

Kidzu’s goal is to build a right-sized museum reflective of the needs of our community – a museum providing robust and captivating indoor and outdoor learning environments for infants to teens and plenty of spaces for all kinds of community gatherings. Kidzu has petitioned the Town of Chapel Hill to enter into a public/ private partnership for a 3-acre piece of land in Southern Community Park.

Reaching this milestone feels heavy given how much work remains ahead of us. I am exhausted by the slow pace of progress but seeing your names pile up gives me the strength to keep pushing forward.

We like be Kidzu, would love to see it expanded. Currently we are more likely to frequent Museum of L&S due to the larger size and outdoor spaces. Would wholeheartedly support a larger Kidzu in Chapel Hill.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS!! I have a 5 year old daughter so she loves museums and if I didn't have to drive to Raleigh everytime I could just come right next door!! I'd be erratic and I know so many other parents would be as well!!!
This would be great to have in southern Chapel Hill! I can imagine a great day at the museum and the park. The location is accessible via bus route and would not displace any current residents to build.
This is a much better location than originally proposed on Franklin. It will be easy for families and appeal to the growing community on that side of Chapel Hill.
My children love the existing Kidzu location and I love it too as it fosters their independence, creativity, and learning. A larger location with indoor/outdoor spaces and closer to the growing Chatham communities would be ideal!! This is a no brainier - please accept this proposal!

We have been visiting Kidzu since my 7 year old was a baby and now all my 3 children enjoy playing at Kidzu. Please allow this new expanded home for them.

It's important that CH maintain its unique feel as a friendly, inclusive, southern town. This plan helps us hold onto that and push back the tide of homogenous, bland housing developments and shopping areas.
