I'm in favor of the development of more field/sport space for our children.

There are too few fields available for youth and adults in NYC, and Pier 40 provides a unique opportunity to increase dedicated space in the city that is available to all.

Pier 40 is a key resource for the health and fitness of the use of downtown Manhattan. The ability of our children to be able to exercise and participate in sports contributes to our environment and their health and well-being. Adding extra field to Pier 40 will only enhance this resource and be a valuable addition to our neighborhoods

It is imperative that urban kids have access to open, outdoor space and high quality athletic facilities. The connections to physical health and emotional well-being are well documented. It should be a moral imperative to ensure these benefits to NYC kid in an equal and ample quality to those kids who live in affluent suburbs.

Finding a place for kids to play organized sports is already rare enough in the city. Please save the pier's fields.

There needs to be more fields for teams to practice as well as for people that just want to play pick up/rec league

The activities associated within Pier 40 helps create a better adult of these kids. Instead of getting in trouble in the streets they are participating in team activities which helps in the development of good social qualities. I strongly advocate the development of an improve park for everyone.

Athletic field space where kids (and adults) can play and train has to be a component of a healthy urban environment. Expanding and improving the fields at Pier 40 would be a contribution to the well being of the community, both downtown and, given how many people come to the pier from all over town, city-wide. The creation of Hudson River Park is itself a testament to the understanding of the human need for green space and the growing understanding of the essential role that physical activity plays in human health. More athletic space will enhance the livability of the city. Good for everybody.

Save Pier 40. The city has plenty of commercial real estate. The kids need the open space.

My son and his teammates have benefited from the use of the Pier 40 sports facilities for years. I believe the majority of the footprint of Pier 40 should be devoted to sports fields. Commercial space can always go UP -- fields can't!!!
