Pier 40 needs at least 66% of its space dedicated to sports fields. These are used so much by the community, and their use justifies their maintenance.

Downtown kids need green space to run around and play sports... Pier 40 is loved and used not only by locals but also by kids and adults from around the city. We need more of Pier 40 for sports, not less!

Raising healthy, active children in NYC is a challenge. Pier 40 is a vital facility in that respect, provided a much needed outlet for athletic activity in lower Manhattan. The alternative- having to commute 45-60 minutes for athletic practice and games- diminishes the value of participation and adds to congestion and pollution in the city.

Please keep pier 40 as a New Yorker , parent of a child and myself playing soccer with DUSC at pier 40 it’s essential we live and breathe in Manhattan and we need pier 40 to do Just that. At pier 40 the happiness, excitement and the joy to see this kids playing all day and know they are safe and close by for the parents it’s a relief. Please keep pier 40.

More space to play and respectful architecture surrounding it - don’t build another Hudson Yards on pier 40. Respect downtown sensibilities.
