As a single mom and full time employee I was not sure I could tackle a masters program. Dr. Mayer not only encouraged me to follow my passion but motivates me every day with continuous support dedication to her students and the program. My success in this program would not have been possible without her. Her, strength, courage and passion for helping others is contagious. I will forever be grateful to her.

I am so grateful for the educatuon that I received at CSU Stanislaus. Dr. Mayer played a huge roll in my success and motivation to continue my education. Dr. Myers is the most blunt and truthful professor CSU Stanislaus has.. If you lose her, you minis well say goodbye to the masters program of consoling.... I can name two other want to be professors/secretaries that should be gone Kane and Kathleen!!! They are the reason why I dropped out of the program, and I have emails to prove the unprofessionalism from both of these want to be professional people... I would love to spread the word, not to go to Stanislaus.... if you lose Dr. Myers!!!

Dr. Mayer is the most motivating and knowledgable professor I have ever had for both undergraduate and graduate coursework. It is because of Dr. Mayer that I had the determination and drive to be successful in the counseling program at Stanislaus. She always had an open door policy and cared about the success of her students. Dr. Mayer made me feel like more than just a regular student or a face in the crowd during class. She genuinely cares for people inside and outside of class and would bend over backwards to help others. I found Dr. Mayers approach to teaching refreshing and exciting and I looked forward to taking courses with her. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to learn from her during and after my time at Stanislaus. She is truly a diamond in the rough.

I believe that Dr. Mira Mayer (as a teacher and as a coordinator) is someone that made a positive impact on different domains of my life during the course of my education. I could never speak negatively about her, and I think I speak for many. I strongly believe we should have more educators like her, who are not afraid to advocate and be leaders in education.
I believe that without her, this program wouldn't be the success it is.
What Mira has done for me is incredible; she opened a world of possibilities by providing me with opportunities via her genuine, well-informed guidance. I have fond memories of my graduate experience because she positively impacted these experiences in-class and outside of class; I can still remember Mira’s deep and attentive voice conveying a sense of direction in my education endeavors. I always felt welcomed when visiting her office. She is always responsive to helping in anything related to class or with the program. And she is an impeccable teacher, too.
It would take me an infinite amount of lines to express how grateful I feel to have had a wonderful professor and coordinator like Mira, and I hope only impartial truth be spoken about her because she strives for the best of us. She has done a lot of great things, and sometimes she receives no credit for it. With no hesitation, I strongly support Mira!

It is with a sincere and positive sentiment that I write this comment to support Dr. Mira Mayer. I am sure that I have only experienced good things from her. She provides an exceptional graduate education experience.
As a teacher, she makes classes adequately challenging so we are prepared and are competent professional counselors. I liked taking courses with her. She worked really hard to bring guest speakers to enrich our graduate education, and enhanced our seminars using different teaching techniques to make the material and our learning of it easier to remember and entertaining so we were attentive in class. She was always prepared and made sure we understood everything. She is really knowledgeable, and I always felt a sense of belonging in her class because anyone was welcomed to participate.
What is more, I have seen how she is avidly devoted to our program. It is evident her continuous efforts to improve the program; just to name a few things, I would see her asking for feedback from students to better different aspects of the program, and being attentive to all my needs during and outside of academic counseling. Her open door policy made sure we could drop by at any time. In fact, I always felt welcomed to drop by her office.
I feel she genuinely cares about our education. In truth, she takes a step further and helps us not only to graduate, but presents us with employment opportunities and internships.
In addition, she has been polite to me all of the time. She is an exceptionally dedicated teacher and coordinator, the type that other masters’ programs wish they had. We are lucky to have her here in the Counselor Education program, being so the case that her passion for helping gets the appreciation of multitudes.

I decided to enrolled in the counseling program after attending an open house and meeting Dr. Mayer. Her guidance, knowledge and passion were monumental in my academic success. She helped me become a better person and believed in me (when I had a difficult time believing in myself). After I graduated, it was thanks to her, that I continue to take classes in hopes of completing the requirements for an LPCC and have achieved the level of education that I once thought it was impossible. She believed in me because she cares and is passionate about all her students!
