PhD Mira Mayer is a great person very strong committed to her profession and her students. Dr. Mayer has been a great asset to the counseling department all these years and recently she added the Clinical Counseling to the department. All these years, Dr. Mayer has done an excellent job at the counseling department and I am sure that the department will continue to benefit with a person like her.

Dr. Mira Mayer has had a profound impact on my professional and personal life. I now am the lead of a school counseling program and am successful at running it, but furthermore changing the lives of students because of what Dr. Mira Mayer instilled into me and other students alike. She is honest and sometimes brutally brunt, and by far the best educator I have ever had. I would stand to support her in any way that I can. I believe that her efforts will carry ripples farther than she can imagine and am truly thankful to have been a student in her program.

I appreciate all that Dr. Mayer has done to promote and expand the School Counseling program at CSU Stanislaus. Thanks to her hard work and persistence, it is now possible for students to not only get a master's in school counseling, but also to be able to pursue licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor. I don't think that would have happened without her passion and drive to see it through to fruition.

Dr. Mira Mayer is an amazing professor. She is not only a professor, but she is also a mentor and friend to many of us (current and former students). I can honestly say that I finished my masters in counseling because she pushed me through my thesis. She always went above and beyond to help my fellow peers and I. I truly admire her; she is a genuine leader. I owe a lot of professional counseling career to her, and for that, I will forever be thankful that she crossed my path.

I appreciate Dr. Mayer for several reasons. She has a passion for both the counseling program and her students. She ensures her students have everything they needs to become successful counselors. From her instruction I have learned to set my biases aside and put my student's needs first. She has always had an open door policy should her students feel the need to come by her office to discuss a concern. I honestly believe Dr. Mayer is the heart and soul of the counseling program. Dr. Mayer has my full support as a friend, professor, and future counselor.

When I reflect back on my experience in the PPS program, the most memorable discussions were those led by Mira. She offered deep insights regarding counseling, navigating professional relationships, and growing as an educator. Whether she was sharing her experiences or playing devil's advocate in a class debate, she had a knack for making each individual in the cohort feel like a valued member. Her lively and endearing personality draws people in, and her passion for the program is evident.

In my time in the counselor education program I spent the most amount of time in Mira's classes. It was also in those classes where I learned the essential foundations of being a counselor. Theory, diversity, and timeliness are just a few of the important skills that were introduced to me and reinforced in Mira's classes. I also always received great feedback on my papers that I wrote in her classes. As with any professor Mira had her own style, set of expectations, and way of doing things. What I respect the most about Mira is how she is always available and open to have real honest conversations. She is extremely supportive and encouraging, and she wholeheartedly believes in the program and the students in it. It would be a huge loss to the program if Mira were to leave.

Mira is a very supportive professor and mentor for all aspiring counselors. She stays abreast with the job demands and trends throughout California in order to keep the counseling program relevant with the needs of the industry. She is devoted to the success of all of her students who have completed the counseling program.

Mira has been the most influential and supportive professor I have experienced in my entire 10 year educational career at CSU Stanislaus. She listens and supports each and every students personal goals and aspirations. She looks for a variety of community resources to assist students to learn more in the field. Mira has been a positive influence on the CSU campus and her influence continues far beyond the classroom.

Dr. Mayer has been a wonderful professor. She brings a vast amount of knowledge and expertise to the program. Dr. Mayer's method of instruction is meaningful and presented with great humor. She has high expectations for all students, and she is direct in her approach. Dr. Mayer's classes are never boring, and she's available to meet students when they make the time to make it to her office. Dr. Mayer truly advocates for all students, and it is evident in her commitment to the program. The program would not be the same without Dr. Mayer. She is an entity to the counseling program.

It is unfortunate that we have come to a day where we have to fill out a petition in regards to such an important person to the Counseling Education department.

As alumni of the School Counseling program, I can still look back and say that Dr. Mira Mayer has made a huge impact on my life. Her teaching style kept me interested, her knowledge taught me so much, and her life lessons were priceless. It is easy for me to say that if Dr. Mayer wasn't a professor, I would not have been as interested and my graduate program outlook would not have been that positive. Thank you Dr. Mayer for being an excellent role model and a great teacher!

At first, I didn't know what to make of her teaching/counseling style, but I've grown to realize that Dr. Mayer deeply cares about all of her students and is a great professor and advocate for the program...her role as coordinator will be hard to fill. She has my support as a student and future professional.
