Libraries build, unite and inform communities and are I intrinsic to literacy and growth. The staff at Mary Kaeser Library are often juggling several tasks at once as they try to assist patrons with finding materials, monitor computer usage, watch and redirect children, intervene when youth escalate etc etc. The proper funding to ensure staff are equipped to do their job and continue to provide excellent service shouldn't even be up for debate. One of my favourite parts of this quaint community is having such a fabulous library and helpful/friendly staff available.

The library is an essential hub in our community that is accessed by many community members, especially children and youth. We would suffer a great loss if we were no longer able to access the knowledge, technology, and space provided by our wonderful library and it's staff.

If the library closes even a certain amount of hours, it can affect kids like my friends because a lot of kids go to the library after school because they have nowhere else to go. Because some kids when they get older, around teenagers, they get too old for after school program. Knowing that I went to after school program when I was about 9 years old, I didn't really like it. I liked swimming but I didn't like the crafts that they made because there were younger people there that couldn't do older crafts so they had to make it for younger kids. The library is also there for kids who can't go anywhere or if the kids don't want to sit in their parent's offices doing nothing and waiting for their shift to be over. So the library is also there for people who don't have anywhere to go or for people who have to finish their homework. Considering that even my family doesn't have a printer but the library does and if you use the computer for homework at the library, you get 5 pages free. So even if the library closes for a certain amount of hours, it can affect so many kids in the town. Either they will be in a discomfort zone or they will be wandering around town doing other things. So the library is also there to feel good about yourself, too. It's not just an information place, it's a place to hang out, it's a fun place to be, it's quiet, it's fun loving, and it's a nice place to do your homework. There are also crafts held at the library sometimes but it's not always possible when they are working hard to try and help the library. So the change of the budget will affect everybody. I speak for all the kids who are too afraid to speak for themselves, even though they can't do it, I will because I don't want all these kids to feel unhappy that they couldn't make a difference.

As the operator of the group home in town, our 6 kids spend a great deal of time there and really take advantage of all the services they offer. It's an awesome place for all and I hope the hours and services can be maintained.

The library is a good place to be because there's lots of stuff you can do there and you can learn lots of stuff on the iPads. You can learn stuff on the computers and it's easy to just go there when someone has work and they can't have their kids at their work with them. It's a nice place to be. The computers can also help kids learn a lot by games and stuff that might actually happen at school. It's a nice place to be after school because sometimes you can meet other people there and it's not that far from school and it's easy to walk there and just stay there. It's a nice place to be, a really nice place to be. They do crafts sometimes and in the morning they have storytime and it's nice to read books and helping kids do crafts on Monday and stuff like that. I think that the library is a really, really nice place to be and there's lots of books that I like reading and there's movies that you can take out. Some of the movies are really important at the end, and sometimes in the beginning, and in the middle. There's lots of cool crafts that even some older kids and even some adults like doing. There's even lots of board games sometimes that are fun to play almost every year. There are really fun games and sometimes there are crafts at the library that are included as board games. I have my own library card because it's fun to take out books and you really need a library card to get books.
