I believe that a library is very important to any and all communities. My view is this should not even be an issue, we need this vital service provided. Libraries are another form of education, which we encourage all the time and I support tremendously.

The greatest treasure in any community is the minds of the people. Fort Smith needs library services so that people can continue to read literature, explore new ideas, and develop their minds. My mind was awakened by a small library with a wood stove when I was growing up. Who knows what can be unlocked in the minds of the younger generation in this community? Cutting services to the library is short-sighted, an ill informed decision. We need an educated, informed population more than we need fancy buildings.
