Please allow Malones to open for Christmas. This is a great addition to all the other Christmas events happening in Edinburgh. The space looks awful lying empty and this will be a huge improvement.

The city needs more venues like this, not less. Refusing planning based on spurious, unfounded claims of discontent is one thing but to try to argue that the venue is not in keeping with our city centre is scandalous. Malones raipidly became a flagship for what is woefully lacking in our city centre: atmosphere. Soulless, faceless, sterile big business and cupcake hotel developments might keep the powers that be happy but it does nothing for tourists and locals alike. The fact the innovative approach of Malones offered something different should be celebrated, encouraged and promoted, not shut down by people afraid to set foot in a decent pub. Sign, please!

I loved this place during the festival. A great friendly atmosphere. Its the festive period. Lighten up. Bunch off scrooges not allowing it to happen!

I have seen cowboys get a license to sell alcohol in a public place on Edinburgh streets but you deny a well organised company. Disgraceful.
