Please reconsider refusing to approve planning permission to Malones on the Mall an extremely popular Edinburgh venue Malones provides employment to many, is extremely well managed and has been a great success on various occasions i.e the 6 Nations and during the summer when planning was approved.

Came across Malones on the mall while on a trip to Edinburgh. What a fantastic place . The atmosphere was unreal, . The staff were very friendly . It was such a fun experience and I can't wait to go back. I have recommended it to a group of friends and we are really looking forward to visiting Malones .

I can't believe how this bar is not back it was the perfect place to meet friends and family when in Edinburgh.. The staff were so friendly and the music was fantastic. We had some yummy food when out and stopped off before catching train back home. It was in the perfect spot and will be sadly missed if it is not returned for the presence Christmas spell.

Being part of a band that regularly plays at Malones it is a great space for some good local music and much better to look at and listen to some fairground or a statue of a polar bear. A German market isnt exactly in keeping with the area either is it...

A fun busy establishment that was a great venue during the fringe. Fantastic drink, food, fun and great staff. An asset to all celebratory periods in Edinburgh.

This was my favourite venue during the Edinburgh Fringe! It is a welcoming place for everyone, from locals, to travellers, to people needing a drink after work, even to dogs! The spirit of this bar was one that you don’t often see and it is a real shame that such a minority decision can have such a massive impact. Refusing permission for this is a poor choice, and I think that the blank concrete space that will be left in its place is a lot less appealing and provides no Christmas spirit for those travelling far and wide to see the beauty and happiness that Edinburgh has to offer through it’s venues (such as Malones). No trouble ever came from this venue, only good spirit and good times!

A fantastic pop up venue with great staff and outstanding live music. It added so much to the incredible atmosphere that comes with the Edinburgh fringe festival, it should have the opportunity to do the same for the city centre over Christmas.

This site was fantastic in the summer and is clearly a big employer in Edinburgh, providing a fantastic atmosphere and operation - I fully support this venture and believe that Edinburgh as a vibrant and exciting city, which is looking to keep people in its city Centre for leisure, entertainment as well as retail as the pairing here goes hand in hand, needs venues like this. The Christmas markets are a fantastic draw of footfall to Edinburgh every year and a well run area like this instead of just takeaway booths is a great addition. The site as an open space is not utilised most of the year except for anti social behaviour and it was great to see it in use over the summer and look forward to seeing it back in operation during Christmas! I hope the council review this decision - Edinburgh needs Malones!
