I think Malones on the Mall/festival village is the best thing to happen to Edinburgh in a very long time, a lot of jobs are at stake and to pull the plug so close to opening when so many people were relying on it is a complete farce

Disgrace that Malone's aren't granted the licence. Excellent venue, 70 people put of a job and 20 plus musicians

The council are shocking, if it was as bad as they say why did they let him extend the footprint and the license. Best pub in Edinburgh

Malones is a Jewell along that stretch of high street. It has the most welcoming atmosphere, and the amazing staff make it an ideal place to relax after a hectic day of work. I’ve yet to find a better outdoor live music venue...it is a place to be cherished. Edinburgh will be worse off without it

Sighting the potential of noise when the Xmas markets and on of the largest street parties in Europe both tale place one block down is ridiculous. Usually the top of Waverley Mall is an uninspiring waste of space that does nothing for the city. At least Malone's was giving it a popular purpose. I feel that the council is simply pandering to a vocal minority as usual.

It would be a travesty to not have the festival village back for the winter! It brought so much joy over the summer ,with its atmosphere and live music , which even won it an award for an entertainment venue. Not to mention the tourism it brought to the capital, aswell as creating nearly 100 jobs.

Please re-consider this bizarre decision for the good of Edinburgh and the jobs to the hospitality industry you boast about promoting.

Malone's outdoor bar brings so much to Edinburgh.
