- Support John McConway Harrison (NY) Little League
Coach John McConway has been coaching both Little League baseball and travel team baseball in Harrison for 20+ years developing countless successful players and teams enjoying playing for him. He has been so active in Harrison baseball that he was asked to join the Little League Board and served in such capacity the last two years. John has two older (now adult) children and a 9yr old all of whom have played LL without incident. His two older children have played high level high school and college sports. On one occasion, John brought his 2022 travel team to Rockland Boulder Stadium to play a real game where the boys and families had a great time with all the pomp and circumstance. (announcer, first pitch, national anthem performed by John) In addition, he had his 2022 travel team play in two tournaments in Putnam County and Long Island where families gathered, boys played, and all celebrated accomplishments. The parents even organized an impromptu birthday celebration for John. John coached a total of 100+ games in 2022 alone. It is estimated that John has coached more than 500 games in his life. John has traveled to Upstate NY, CA, MD, GA, CT, PA, NJ, SC, TX, and FL to watch and coach youth baseball.
A group of disgruntled parents upset over the playing time of their kids (one parent whose child did not even play for John during the year in question and some whose kids no longer even play baseball in the town of Harrison) have made false and unproven allegations against Coach McConway that he made derogatory statements in front of players. The Little League Board met with these parents on November 14th but did not permit Coach McConway to be present to refute any allegations made about him. Now the Little League Board is asking Coach McConway to resign from the Little League Board no longer serve as coach for Harrison Baseball baseball this year, all without allowing Coach McConway to have a fair process and meet such parents and refute, discuss, or explain any relevant circumstances.
Accordingly, we parents, friends, and supporters of Coach McConway believe that he should not resign from the Little League Board and should be allowed to continue to coach the 10U Bombers travel baseball team and LL teams in 2023 and beyond. We think Coach McConway is a tireless worker and good baseball coach and support him coaching teams in Harrison baseball for years to come. To show our support we have signed our names to this petition and ask you to do the same for a man who has spent countless volunteer hours training young Harrison boys and only wishes to continue to coach, teach, and instill a love for this game to our boys. We also ask that you sign this petition in support of John being treated more fairly.

John is an outstanding coach. He volunteers his time and shows up with a positive attitude. The kids love him, one parent doesn’t so started her sports mom drama. John keep up the good work!
John is great! The kids r having fun under his supervision, idk why this one parent decided to start all this drama and make false accusations leave this man alone, my son enjoys playing bombers baseball
This man John is the best leave your petty outside drama at home and don’t bring it on the field John is the best coach out there and he’s even better then the Harrison high school jv coaches who didn’t care about the kids at all John cares about not only the kids but if there ok and he makes sure every win and lose counts as for all everyday is a new day so leave your drama at home and make John stay
I saw many videos of John coaching and I could u not this man is the best coach I’ve seen. He makes sure every kid has equal playing time unlike my soccer coach did but he also makes sure all the kids are okay and checks in on them to make sure he is the best don’t let him go
Let him coach no kids are complaining and he brings everyone together for team bonding and making sure the kids are always having smiles on there face after a win or after a lose John is the best coach out there and you can’t take that away
He should not be coaching. He is mean to the kids and has mental issues. He dresses like a homeless person.
He is a wonderful husband and father. The best one I know.

Leave this man alone, deal with your outside problems separate. John is a superb coach and the boys all have a great time playing. We always went out after games win or loose bc the boys enjoyed it john was always there interacting with them even after tough looses. He brought all the boys together. He always found extra games to play to keep them working hard.
