An Initiative from

ILTEA

The only association that delivers

Livestock exports play an integral role in the Irish economy, and the economies of many other nations. It creates employment for thousands of Irish people.

It ensures much needed revenue into the pockets of Irish farmers by driving and maintaining very competitive market prices, this facilitates a much better return for the farmer and at the same time, removes the ever increasing stranglehold of the factories.

Without livestock exports, the factories will dictate the prices and continue to drive them down. Eventually squeezing the smaller farmer out of existence, while simultaneously expanding feedlots, many of which are already owned by the factories themselves.

Irish Livestock live their lives to the full, on farms all over the European continent and indeed other continents, providing much needed food, while obviously it reduces hunger, it also reduces poverty.

All Members of the Irish Livestock Transporters & Exporters association have signed up to, and must adhere to a very strict charter for animal welfare, the first of its kind in Ireland. Animal Welfare is, and must continue to be of paramount importance. No-one wants to see the mistreatment of any animal.

However, this important industry is under threat, now more than ever, from NGO’s and political parties and activists deliberately creating misleading viral advertising and disinformation. What is true is that Irish Livestock is the best in the world and the majority of people want it.

If you support Irish farmers and wish to have Livestock exports continue. The time to act is NOW, so please take a few seconds of your time and click YES!!

Updates

January 31, 2021

I have spent the last few days collating evidence to counter the recent disinformation campaign targeting the transport sector. My next step involves drafting a formal briefing document to present directly to the Department of Agriculture. Expect a summary of current industry trends and our response strategy in the coming days.

The factories have been squeezing us for years. Time to stand up for our own industry before the family farms are gone for good.

Support local. Irish beef is the best in the world and we need to be able to sell it where we want.

Farmers work hard enough as it is. leave the exports alone and let them make a living.
