Dear friend of FFB, As you will now be aware, the British Government, specifically DEFRA, has decided unexpectedly to terminate support of Food from Britain and the new 5-year contracts with the International offices signed in April 2007 after almost 25 years. FFB\'s existing London office will close in March 2009, in spite of the fact that food & drink exports are currently worth pound 11.5 bn to the British economy. We, the international network of Food from Britain, have been encouraged by all the complimentary remarks we have received since the announcement from companies such as yours. We want to sincerely thank you for this. Seeing the need and demand of the British Food & Drink Industry in local in-market support, the 9 independently-owned International offices have pledged to continue their service. However, in order to continue supplying the same quality and service, it is obvious that our business model needs time to evolve. The International Offices have already presented to DEFRA a robust business model enabling them to continue the current high service level to the British food & drink industry on a fully privatised basis. Please sign below with your name, position and company name if you support the work of Food from Britain and want to see it continue through the existing International network. Kind regards, Yours sincerely, Managing Directors of all FFB International Offices

Need to keep the london office open. Without that link the whole thing falls apart.

Can't believe they are cutting this. Food exports are huge for us right now. Why would anyone kill a successful network?

THEY DONT THINK BEFORE THEY CUT FUNDING. Our business relies on that international reach. Typical government shortsightedness.

This is absolute madness. Small producers are going to be left completely in the dark without this support. Keep it running.

FFB helped us get into new markets years ago. Dont shut it down just to save a few pennies in the short term.
