Dear Honorable Members of the Hoboken City Council,

I am writing to you as a friend of the Hoboken Public School District. Recently it came to my attention that the City Council is considering diverting a percentage of the PILOT payment from 770 Jackson Street that is earmarked for the K-12 Hoboken District Public Schools (per resolution passed by city council in 2017) to the three charter school districts in Hoboken.

The K- 12 Hoboken Public School District includes over 3,400 students and employees, and is required to educate every child who enrolls, without limitation. Please do not divert any funds from the PILOT payment for 770 Jackson away from this rapidly growing population.

I am asking for your commitment to vote “NO” on any resolution that will deviate from the 2017 agreement.
