I do agree with confidence that Mr. Jacob Lamonday is an upstanding member of society and poses no risk to the general public should he be granted the variation of his weapons prohibition for the purpose of joining the CAF and hunting for sustenance. I believe that Jacob has done extensive work in many facets of his life since April of 2020 to better himself in a number of ways. He has also made many of positive connections throughout the community during this time. I do agree with the general statement that Jacob should not have any legal limitations and should be provided with the opportunity to reach his full potential.
My name is Jacob. I am 25 years old. Up until recently I would of started this paragraph with "I am a 25 year old small business owner, athlete, and future Search and Rescue Tech. for the Canadian Armed Forces". At this time, I cannot make that statement with confidence.
The purpose of this petition is to acquire enough signatures or "witnesses of character" to give the courts enough reason to remove / lessen my standing weapons prohibition to grant me the opportunity to follow in the path for which I know I am destined; devoting my life to helping those who are not as fortunate as myself in the most extreme of situations.
The hearing for this matter has been booked in a extraordinarily quick manor. Hearing Date: October 22, 2024
Those who know me, know that I spent April 2020-July2024 on house arrest after being mislead into taking a plea deal for a situation that's true facts are very different from what's written down on paper. I used this time to become someone whose capable of and strives for greatness.
The idea of one day becoming a CAF member is what drove my daily actions as the kid who only 6 years ago was a complete waste of life, to become the man I am today. The man I became to serve my wife, to serve my community, and to serve those who are not as fortune as myself.

Jacob is someone I met early into my martial arts journey. His patience and never quit attitude is something you rarely see. During the time I spent doing 5:00am training sessions id show up and Jacob would already be warmed up, with an positive attitude ready to conquer the workout and the rest of the day. It would be an absolute shame if Jacob wasn’t able to join the Canadian armed forces. He is cut from a cloth that many aspire to be.
I know Jacob, I am his mother, he has grown greatly, he is dedicated and hard working and has learned from past mistakes and when he is passionate about something, he whole heartedly commits to it! The army would benefit from his drive, determination and commitment to bettering himself!
Jacob is a stand up man! He has heart
Not a threat to anyone and uses it for the proper use only.
Good luck Jacob! You have so much potential to do great things.

I have known Jacob for four years now and have seen him make great strides to turn his life around from where he was at 18. I fully believe his intentions to join the CAF and think he will be a great asset to them. I belive he has paid his debt to society and has learned from his mistakes and would pose no threat to society if his weapons ban were lifted. It would be a shame if his mistakes as a teenager held him back from reaching his full potential as an adult.
