The news arrived this morning and it seems our collective push has truly paid off for Farmer Jones. I am honestly stunned by how many people joined this cause and carried it to the finish line. Please keep keeping an eye on our local farms because this is only the …

We the undersigned hereby declare our support for Farmer Jones, and for all Farmers in the Commonwealth Of The Bahamas who toil daily to provide home grown food and to establish food security for the country and its people. We support the right to bear arms to defend property, equipment, infrastructure, farmland, home, crops and livestock from theft, damage, destruction and general acts of aggression that do not permit the farming community to work in peace and establish productivity to feed their families and to feed a nation. We support that the farmer may take up arms and act in self defense of their life and livelihood. We support Farmer Jones in his brave stand.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stood up for Farmer Jones. This is entirely due to the community showing up for one another and I am just humbled to be a part of this movement.

Our food security is depending upon these same farmers - if the police & courts can’t protect them, then it’s a no brainer!

Someone once stole all my coconuts off my tree (we called it the mother tree because it gave us the babies to more coconut trees). It hasn't beared fruit since. People need to keep their hands to themselves and learn to work for their own reward.

Arms to protect from serious criminals caught in the act not from an individual especially a child stealing fruit for lack of food and hunger. Be very compassionate and reasonable in your decision to draw arms.

Always hearing about working hard at the farm and then when night comes the thieves reap the benefits plus no subsidies during disaster. It's not easy!

This is heart wrenching, working hard to support self and family.Yet, person's think that they can just destroy the work of your hand without repercussions. This can't be right in an industry that lacks proper financial support and encouragement.

It's a shame that farmers are charged for defending the property; property used to help establish the Bahamas' food security. Free Mr. Jones and get your Jones on✊

It is imperative that the farmers that feed us be the people we ensure have the protection they deserve.
