The feedback from our neighbors confirms that a new school is exactly what this area needs to grow properly. Please email your Town Council representative today to insist they approve 14-REZ-35 at the next hearing. Keep the pressure on so they understand we are watching this decision closely.

More elementary schools are needed in this area. There are many housing developments either under construction or approved & waiting to begin - our local schools are already capped. It makes no sense not to get ahead of this and build more schools in this area!
Proposed rezoning REDUCES the commercial area from 23.27 acres down to 5.15 acres with the balance of 18.12 acres being exclusively used for the school
There is a chart on page 5 of the staff report. It details the changes this rezoning will have as compared to the current zoning. It will actually REDUCE the amount of commercial and office space by 100,000 square feet. Current zoning allows for 275,000 sf of commercial and office, the new zoning would only permit 175,000 sf.
This is critically important for Western Wake County. While far from Raleigh, there is a great density of family homes in the 27519 zip code that demands another elementary school.
With all the growth in this area we need another school and it should let all amberly kids join it. Whats the point of a neighborhood school if you cant get in.

Another elementary school is desperately needed in the Amberly development region of Western Wake County. School sites are very difficult to procure, and if a school is not built now, the opportunity will not be available in the future.
More elementary schools are needed in this area. There are many housing developments either under construction or approved & waiting to begin - our local schools are already capped. It makes no sense not to get ahead of this and build more schools in this area!
