Another elementary school is desperately needed in the Amberly development region of Western Wake County. School sites are very difficult to procure, and if a school is not built now, the opportunity will not be available in the future.

The zoning change is complicated. Placing a school in this location violates the Cary Northwest Area Plan and the Wake County Public School System procedure of locating schools where they can minimize bus travel and maximize utility. It is located on the county line and has another school about 1.5 miles away. This will cut its usefulness in half. In addition, it is located next to two major thoroughfares and surrounded by streets. There are many locations in our area that would be better. I think that the safety of our children should be our highest priority!
