YES, I SUPPORT THE FLVS FLEX PROGRAM!!!

The Florida House and Senate passed House Bill 7069 in early May and the final step in order for the bill to become law now rests with Governor Scott. The Governor has been extremely supportive of FLVS and we would like to express our continued support and ask him to pass this House Bill that affects the future of our children.

House Bill (HB) 7069 covers more than 20 education topics, including removing the eligibility requirements for elementary students wishing to take FLVS Flex courses. The bill is pending the Governor’s approval. The Governor has been very supportive of FLVS Flex and included this provision in his proposed budget. Florida Virtual School is a fully accredited, statewide public school district offering more than 150 courses to Kindergarten-12 students. Its certified teachers use a variety of personalized instructional programs to create individualized educational plans for every student. Since 1997, FLVS students have successfully completed more than 3.1 million semester enrollments.

ALL FLVS CURRICULUM MEETS THE FLORIDA STANDARDS AND IS ONLY FUNDED UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION CURRICULUM.

FLVS FLEX:

• Utilizes a flexible learning model and offers a comprehensive elementary curriculum, including Reading, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Technology.
• Elementary-certified FLVS teachers provide your child with age-appropriate instruction while working as a group. Students meet with classmates and his or her teacher online twice a week for Class Time (live video lessons), then work independently (with the support of a parent or guardian) three days a week.
• Recently won the “Innovate to Educate Community Choice Award”.It is so important to let the Governor know that the portion of HB 7069 that removes the eligibility requirements is important and affects so many!
