The review process is over and the development is finally moving forward. I am drained from the constant fighting but incredibly relieved that we secured this future for our town. Keep an eye on the site as the construction begins because we need to hold them to their word.

This petition is started to demonstrate how much the people of Farnham want the Brightwells East Street Development Scheme to go ahead. At present the 'Farnham Interest Group' are trying to ruin it for us by taking it to Judicial Review. I think it's time the community join together and support the regeneration of such a run down area of Farnham. We are lucky to have a developer willing to pour money into our town, let's let them do it.
The development will regenerate and provide Farnham residents with much needed community facilities such as a cinema, more restaurants and shops such as M&S in a part of Farnham that is currently extremely run down. It will make the town much more vibrant and desirable and our house prices will increase. The main concern is parking but look at the station, they have doubled the capacity in a matter of weeks, it is not a reason to stop the scheme.
There is only so much time and money an investor will spend on a scheme until they cut their losses and walk away and this WILL happen unless we support, support, support! Lets not let a minority drive away our developer. I want a local cinema for my children to wander to, nice restaurant and shops that will satisfy an ever more demanding younger generation, do we want the children of farnham going to Aldershot and Guildford for this when we could have it here on our doorstep, absolutely not.

The opposition is exhausting and they seem determined to drag this out until the developers simply walk away. I am tired of watching our town center sit in decay while legal obstacles stall real progress. We have to keep pushing because the future of Farnham deserves better than this stagnant mess.

Let's move on! Farnham is steeped in history ! You could never take that away . This relatively small development goes hand in hand with the UCA bringing youngsters in to help the place thrive and continue writing the history of the town !
I moved to Farnham over 32 years ago - before either of my children were born The cinema was demolished with the promise of great things to come. My sons are now in their 30s and the site is still derelict. It is a shameful disgrace.
This development has been a long time in the works and as someone that lives in Weybank close, which is one of the closest housing areas to East Street and the Brightwells area, it would be a welcome addition to Farnham and would revitalise my love for the town
Farnham resident of 34 years. The town desperately needs this development. The area is run down and not representative of the town. Traffic is a challenge but one that needs to be overcome but should not stop the development.
Fed up with all those unaffordable boutiques and charity shops! We need shops such as Next, New Look, H&M, Marks&Spencers, a Cinema would be nice too, fed up with trips to Aldershot and Guilford, let's revamp Farnham a little, not just for us but for our next generation!

Remember those two houses that where on the edge of dogflud car park next to the old doctors surgery? I used to live there, they moved us out in the year 2000, so they could knock them down and start the development. 16 Bloody years ago, get on with it already.
