Dr Rendell does not play the political games- he is about kids... our kids! I have 4 kids in this district at each level- elem, middle, and high- so we experience a little bit of everything. We have seen him at every event from sports, music., to academics- always visible. He has made some choices that weren’t popular with everyone, but at the end of the day his intentions have been for what is best for this district. He came to this district and was hired with all good intentions and has done a pretty darn good job sticking to those. All leaders want to be surrounded by people they trust - that is what he tried to do but it is obvious there are still many moles around him that are wanting to help him fail. Shame on those people because at the end of the day the ones who will be hurt the most are our students! The bashing and unprofessionalism from certain board members must stop! By stirring the pot and continuing to fuel the fire with lies you have embarrassed those of us who love our community and want to raise our children to BE KIND! #supportdrrendell

Dr. Rendell has served and positively supported students in his role as superintendent in many unseen ways that never make the news or highlights. For example, he created a student advisory board from each school whose principal-selected representatives meet with him personally to give feedback on school programs. Two of my children have served on that board and they love Dr. Rendell for listening to them and giving them a voice in decision making. During those sessions he listened to student feedback and explained school direction and programs. He has paid attention to student concerns and trends. He didn’t have to take the time for this activity, but he did. We support Dr. Rendell and appreciate him.

Over 20 yrs working in this district, a Vero native, product of IRC schools....though not real proud of how some district professionals and people in this community have acted the last few months. The hurt, deceit, and just plain meaness has rocked me to the core. No one is perfect in our imperfect world- but Dr. Mark Rendell has done nothing short of support our kids and work hard to improve our district. Many inherited issues that had bandaids placed over them time and time again- yes, they became his problem. One person will never make all individuals happy- but again, when you look at decisions made they have been with our students as the #1 priority. Public education is under fire in our state (nationally as well) for multiple reasons; however, we as a district over the last 3 years have begun to move in the right direction.... UP! Dr. Rendell deserves to finish his contract out to 2020! The grass is NOT greener on the other side; starting over with yet another superintendent means another 3 years before we can see change make a difference and by then the board and naysayers will have something to say about that person and it will be time for him/her to go too. The vicious cycle will continue. Prayers for him and his family to find the strength to forgive the people who have spewed nothing but hate and lies from their mouths- not sure how they wake up and live with themselves each day. #isupportdrrendell

To the RINOs trying to usurp control of the IRCSD--we see you, and you will be dealt with in the 2020 elections.
Leaking to the local tabloids may be how DC operates, but it won't stand in Indian River County. Your duplicity will be known to all over the next 18 months. Those who call you strong are propping you up.
Shame on all of you for tearing down a good man.

Mark has faced challenges with courage and conviction. Is he perfect? Of course not, no one has been for 2,000 years. But academic results and graduation rates have been improving among other key measures. STOP the impulsive actions and loose accusations without facts! To Board members: Keep focus on students and teachers....and serve our community with equity and integrity.
