I do not agree with this allocation of a Sports Field for this land.

ALR land is precious, especially on Salt Spring. Turning this land into playing fields, parking lot, etc. would harm it irreparably.

Local landowners were NOT consulted in the early stages of this proposal, nor informed about relevant meetings until pressed for information. Are we now letting the CRD make planning decisions for islanders? There's a web we'll never get out of!

This proposal has so many negatives but for me, personally, it would be the end of my hope for a peaceful, happy retirement as I live along the lane part of Brinkworthy Road. It will destroy my peace of mind. Please don't let this happen.

This is not the right location for a recreational centre. Brinkworthy is a haven for elderly people. Rainbow Road near the swimming pool would be better

Leave the ALR land alone and the seniors in peace

I support every item on this partition.
Also it seems that no thought at all has been given to safety concerns regarding Brinkworthy Rd, and what would be the destruction of what is now a peaceful country lane..

This is not only agricultural land in the ALR, it is the ONLY affordable low income seniors residential site with narrow access road. It has been an ill thought out "plan"

Am particularly concerned about taking land out of the ALR for an extensive recreational project that may not actually happen because of lack of money and youth users. Population forecasts not favourable.

I have been at Brinkworthy and thought it was a good place for elders. Quiet. I thought it would be a place I could consider if needed. However, although I love children and their access to sports this seems to be absolutely the wrong space. In addition, any land set aside for farm use MUST be preserved for that use. Trees must be preserved as well. This is important for humans of all ages in view of climate change.

Why does this keep happening? What does Preserve and Protect really mean on Salt Spring Island.
How about we put together an agriculture plan for the land and help feed the island.

Let's respect our Elders! This should really be a no brainer. A ball park in the backyard of seniors who want peace and quiet. Goodness sakes isn't it obvious to our Trust that the Elders needs should be respected.

We have quite a bit of recreational property on SSI already, but not enough local food production!

We have lost far too much of BC's agricultural land. We need to become more self-sufficient and able to feed ourselves, not less. We must preserve what is left.
