Agricultural land in the land reserve should stay there.

Agricultural land Reserve means Agricultural Land Reserve, plain and simple. It's reserved for agricultural use. Period. I've raised a family here without the need for extra playing fields.

food and forest over recreation !!!!!!!

I respect the need for recreational facilities for young people. However I am very concerned about the road access and don't want to see excellent agricultural land devoted to playing fields. CRD/PARC should keep on looking for another solution (which they are not doing despite the outcry against this project) They don't need 15 acres!!!

Removing agricultural land from the ALR for social purposes is simply a bad idea. And how come so much of our funds were spent on this project before public consultation even commenced? All this smacks of the kind of arrogance that is, sadly creeping into political life at all levels in Canada. Please respond to our concerns by withdrawing your plans and finding a superior alternative.

Turn the area into COMMUNITY GARDENS something the entire community can enjoy without creating a lot of noise of Brinkworthy OR requiring rezoning of precious Agricultural land.

agricultural land trumps sports fields

I'm strongly opposed to this sports field complex, for the reasons stated and also because Brinkworthy Rd (which would be the entry road) at present is barely adequate to service the existing residents.

Instead, find a way to cooperate with the school board and their fields...

As a geriatric social worker, I was very disturbed about the proposal and hope that the opinon of the elders will be respected.

If this gets approval..thin edge of the wedge. We need to retain our agriculture land. Let them go off island. Not to mention the water support that the trees provide...already drought on island. NoNo No No....not also to mention the pollution and noise for the Brinkworthy residents.

We need agriculture and children that have a direct relationship to growing food.

I am a South ended and I completely oppose the plan for a baseball field here it is offensive that our elders would be subjected to such. Leave them in peace leave it alone.

Another facility that will increase property taxes and go overbudget.

It should be obvuois that food security trumps recreational sports. Please keep the Brinkworthy land in the ALR.

I feel sure that Brinkworthy's residents did not choose to live where they are, instead of beside any of the island schools with their fine playing grounds, to find that their desire to be somewhat removed from the mainstream, will be arbitrarily over-ridden.

The elders are often an unrepresented voice in our society….let’s give them an ear and respect their feelings….

Hey! this is not just an old hay field. This is very valuable agricultural land. We have waiting lists for all our allotment gardens on SSI. Besides that there is a shortage of hay here and farmers have often had to go off island to get hay. Congestion on the main road is already a problem::therefore, making a rec area here will be a true health and safety issue.
