why would we give up prime agricultural land? much of our food is imported from California. when droughts make that impossible, we will regret that we made such a bad decision.

nothing wrong with baseball, but not in this location. I think we need to be smarter about our choices.

As I grew up here in the 1930s and 1940s people were largely food self sufficient. Now if there was any kind of disaster we would be out of food in less than a week. We and our children would benefit more by knowing how to grow food than playing more games. Farming or gardening is good healthy and creative exercise for mind, body and spirit. It also helps alleviate climate change.

During the recent soccer tournament, I noticed that Portlock Park was hardly used. We need agricultural land, not more playing fields.

Five playing fields!?? That is simply nuts. Unnecessary -- and extravagent given our planetary circumstances. We need to seriously rethink this one.

Lived in Brinkworthy for 20 years and feel that would be a big mistake and negates peaceful living for the residents re noise and traffic congestion for the elderly.

Lived on Salt Spring for 37 years. Farmland(even if it is currently unfarmed) is precious.

ALR land should be sacrosanct. Once it is removed frm the ALR or used for non-agricultural purposes, it is lost forever to agriculture. For the sake of food security and the future of the planet, we need to get our priorities straight and protect agricultural land as if it were gold.

I am totally against the property being taken out of the ALR for the purpose of developing a sports fil and parking lot.

i live 50' from the proposed ball field & do not want the extra traffic & noise (+ decreased property value & reduced security) that will come to our quiet little retirement park.
