I have lived on No. Bushnell since 1964 and absolutely love this neighborhood. I would very much hate to see this bungalow court and the Craftsman House torn down for more condo's. Just about two years ago a beautiful Italianate house that had been occupied since WWII by a family whose husband was killed in the war was sold to a real estate agent and turned into and Air b-n-b. The day after they took possession of the house - a 100 year old house that shaded a glass roof was cut down and the beautiful garden was dug up and turned into a parking lot and the garage turned into an apartment. Who exactly has the say in how our neighborhoods are preserved. Just think about all the trees that were cut down on Valley Blvd. in order to build an addition to a nursing home, I believe. The last time I drove by thee from the freeway, the property still had a fence around it.

On North Monterey near Huntington a Bungalow Court and Apartment Bldg were demolished to make way for condos. I agree with all the points that have been made especially destroying historic architecture that makes Alhambra unique. When the project on Stoneman and Maclean is finished the traffic and street parking will not be good. They already cut down several trees.

It's horrible that our city council cares more for developers who likely don't even LIVE HERE!!!! What's Councilman Maloney doing about this????

I mean "REALLY!!!" Alhambra needs even MORE condominiums?? Everywhere you look there are condominiums that sit empty and the planning commission just keeps allowing developers to build and build. WHY?? Aren't their salaries enough to live on or do they need that extra kick back?

So much potential for this court. I’d like to see it remain. Alhambra doesn’t need a population of 150,000 to have honor.

I strongly oppose the demolition of single family homes, located at Marguerita Ave and Curtis Ave, which have provided affordable living to many residents, only to be replaced with grotesque condominiums. Destroying the older structures will deprive residents of affordable housing as well as destroying historic architecture by which a city's history can be traced. One should not have to look at pictures at a historical society to see how a city's buildings once looked, but be able to look at historically preserved buildings still located in the city.

Stop ruining the character of our community any more than you already have with your tacky condos build by crooked developers and approved by compromised city officals. STOP!

Cities are impacted enough. Build new multi-units and condos where there is empty land and not as many people.

I grew up in Alhambra 1938 to 1962. In fact my father was a builder of his personal projects, they were a private home on the corner of Marguerita & Commonwealth and an apartment structure of 12 units At 17 So. Olive. Both these structures are still standing in good repair . My favorite homes were the craftsman and the Bungalow Court. We have moved about the country but still hold these as the epitome of beautiful traditional places to live. Please preserve these homes for future generations to treasure.

I’m sick of ugly, cheaply built unaffordable housing units replacing old, beautiful affordable ones! If you’re going to build more housing, put it someplace actually useful, and for people who actually need it!

We need to keep our historic buildings as they represent who we are and where did we come from and how far. Stop replacing our heritage.

Please preserve the historical architecture. Also, do NOT build some overpriced apartment complex with $800,000 units. Most people who work in Alhambra can't afford property that expensive.

Please save snd restore some of the historic homes while we can and not replace with cheap and horrible buildings that bring no depth of history and character to the city.

These are precious architectural gems that enhance a neighborhood. They enhance Alhambra, whereas the large developments that are proposed just increase the traffic, density and urbanized housing that DIMINISH the neighborhood.
