SUPPORT AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND PRESERVE HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE IN ALHAMBRA

For whom it may concern: my name is Jacqueline Orellana who has resided at this address for the last 12 years with all my family we are a family of limited economic resources until now we have never stopped paying our rent as good tenants. much less disturbed the owners of the house in any way my son under 11 years of age thought that this house was our flagpole tell him the bad news that we have to go live somewhere else. He is broken and even worse you are depressed. we do not know what to do so we depend on you to find a decent place to live. we do not know what to do. but i have the confidence that you will help me to pass this nightmare that every day becomes fear. but take in consideration and help me in what they can. I am sorry to get to this point but me and my family are very concerned about the uncertain future. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Have some honor. This city does not need more ugly condos so people can get rich, who probably don’t even live in Alhambra. Look at yourself in the mirror.

It's unfortunate to see the city trying to change so drastically and not so much for the better. Losing the character of Alhambra and building unaffordable housing. Using the housing crisis act as reasoning for developers to profit and change a community.

Save Alhambra’s history! Don’t displace families during a pandemic! We need to preserve our city’s integrity and compassion.

I oppose displacement of low-income residents and overcrowding of oir community. I think it's heartless to evict these people during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. Shame on greedy developers and city planners who are in favor of this project.

Stop destroy the history of our city by tearing down beauty to build your condominiums. It’s a disgusting money grab and nothing more. I’m so disappointed in the lack of ethical and moral leadership in our city. For shame!

Owner should pay tenants to relocate

Please preserve the quality of life and aesthetics of our neighborhood. The remaining bungalows, Craftsman homes, & other unique historic residences of this immediate area are irreplaceable. This neighborhood has already been negatively impacted by the large apartments, condos, & townhomes built interspersed between these historic structures and single-family homes. Our neighborhood has become a "hodgepodge" of charming historic structures, single-family homes, and ugly towering apartment buildings; a result of poor planning and lack of consideration for the people who live in this area. Commonwealth Ave between Fremont Ave and Atlantic Blvd is already inundated with too much vehicle traffic (including large semitrucks) causing too much stop & go traffic, lack of street parking for residents, too much air pollution, too much noise pollution, etc.!!! Please stop degrading our quality of life!!! Goodhearted, hardworking, people (VOTERS) live here!!! I doubt if this type of building would be allowed among the homes in the north east part of Alhambra. This part of Alhambra has already been degraded by decisions based on the disregard for the people who live here and greed.

An Alhambra Preservation Ordinance has been in consideration by the city for many, many, many years, without any results. The enactment of this Ordinance would have given these historic sites a chance to be preserved as part of Alhambra's wonderful history. I recommend that this current project, brought forth by the developer, Speedee USA, be postponed until the adoption of a strong, viable Preservation Ordinance.

Oppose the demolition of the old houses

These are, without a doubt, historically significant structures. They already provide housing density affordably. This proposed development should be blocked.

Every effort should be made to preserve Southern California's bungalow courts, and the communities they shelter. It is unethical for politicians to enable the developers who finance their campaigns to evict renters and destroy historic resources and old growth trees.
