The election board finally agreed to hold the vote and we have a path forward for our leadership transition. Seeing this support from 134 of you forced them to respect our constitution and stop the silence. I am staying focused on the process to ensure every ballot is counted fairly.

On October 9th, 2021 the SLA Alumni election for President and Secretary was unexpectedly cancelled. No re-schedule date has been announced.

We, concerned members of the Alumni Association body, are petitioning the current SLA alumni to hold an honest, transparent and fair election for the offices of President and Secretary in accordance with with the Alumni Constitution by December 31, 2021.

This petition will be sent to the SLA School Board on November 18 as well as the current SLA Alumni Officers.

The silence from the board is becoming impossible to ignore even as more former students reach out to me with their own frustrations. I am currently gathering these experiences to ensure our push for a transparent election remains centered on the integrity of our community.

Seeing the overwhelming response from my fellow alumni proves that people here truly care about our school and its future. This momentum shows that we are ready to hold the current officers to the standards set in our constitution.

I’m embarrassed for you, I’m a teacher at SLA and you are not a student here. Clearly you are one of the people part of this problem to go out of your way and hide behind a fake name. Act like an adult.

Why are there so many “SLA alumni” who signed this petition who never attended SLA? Also, as a student at SLA, I wonder, does our staff really have nothing better to do with their time than make up petitions, like this one to pass the time away?

Stop fighting the small fights. Stop fighting for attention. Stop fighting for your rights Stop fighting to prove others wrong. Leave those fights for others who have nothing else to fight for. Fight for your own visions and dreams. Fight for your own ideas and destiny. Some fights are not worth your time. Choose what you fight for wisely. Let The Principal of SLA fight his own fight. Instead of being disappointed, you will end up more successful and content and he will be the disappointed one instead.

It’s unfortunate this comment was made as this is not a principal issue and maybe you should be more informed of what’s going on before you call people out individually.

This petition was created by Ilana and sent out by Karl. Look for the common denominator - they both work for the same person. The person with the primary motive is the person who sits in the principals office and is working the hardest, behind the scenes to replace the current SLA alumni association President. Ilana and Karl both work for the principal and are only pawns in the game. Sign the petition but do it with eyes wide open. I only have a few months left until graduation but I walk these halls every day with ears and eyes wide open.
