Due to cosmetic standards for produce in grocery stores, almost 30 percent of all fruits and vegetables are thrown away before reaching the stores. As a results, huge amounts of good and healthy produce goes to waste every day. With this petition, we are asking big supermarkets to join the fight against food waste. When fruits and vegetables that do not comply with cosmetic standards are sold for less money, supermarkets can help the environment and promote healthy eating habits among financially less fortunate households.

Its honestly shameful how much food gets dumped just because a carrot is bent. my grocery bill is high enough as it is and i would buy the ugly ones in a heartbeat if they were cheaper.
