Are you going to cover any losses to my property value due to the overreach? I don’t remember the county signing my mortgage note when we purchased the property so I wasn’t aware of our partnership….

This will destroy the local economy. We need to stop it now

I vote against STR restrictions on my home in Summit County. Owned over 10 yrs and at minimum should have grandfather clause and secondly, the laws will significantly reduce income for local mgr companies and business with reduced days in neighborhood overlay.

If you want more available housing ask Vail Resorts to hire only the number of beds you have for employees! No regulations, no caps, no increased fees for licenses!

I'm not opposed to some regulations, but these percentages are way too low. Wildernest needs to be separated into its own area and allow up to 30-35% STR. That entire area was built for second homeowners and STR's.

Summit County is a fantastic place, it's been my playground since my college days in the 1990s. It holds a special place in my heart. I acknowledge everyone who took the risk and bought in the mountains to own a vacation property or a rental property or chose a new way of life in the mountains as a local. I'm signing this petition now for my personal beliefs and for all the property owners who decided to buy in Summit County because of their ability to rent short-term. I want to protect everyone who will have their life negatively impacted if the right to rent their property short-term is taken away now or slowly over time.

This is very sad for Summit County... the already high rates for lodging will go even higher... and middle income folks looking to get away to the mountains will be priced out. The county is quickly becoming a place that only the truly wealthy can visit.

Summit county needs to stop telling homeowners who we can and can't share our homes with. Whether I want to long term rent, short term rent, or not rent at all, it is my choice who I share my home with

Nightly caps, limiting licenses, and higher taxes for guests to rent will all slowly extinguish local businesses. The entire county economy is based on tourism, directly and equally indirectly.

Property rights are real and should be respected. Setting goals that are knowingly unobtainable for decades to come is nothing but gov over reach and it’s gross.

I own a short term rental in unincorporated Summit County in Breckenridge. The short term rental regulations are biased and unfair. They greatly affect or resale value of our home.

I own property in Keystone, which benefits from the restrictions. However, I oppose the restrictions because they violate the foundational concepts of fairness, justice and property rights. The government should not pick winners and losers. Nor should it change fundamental rules in order to political agendas. Similar restrictions that Summit County is implementing were tried in the 1960's 70's and 80's in large cities like New York, Chicago and others. They were an abject failures and resulted in terrible "unintended consequences." The same will happen in Summit County. Many academic studies have been written about these failures. The Summit County government should read these studies and learn from history. Anyone who wants to learn about this should look for information from The University of Chicago and from Harvard.

I am opposed to the Summit County's proposed STR regulations. Why are we talking about restricting our economy in a risky economical time. STR regulations and caps are now putting those that invest in our county at risk along with our economy. Their equity is at stake now knowing that they can not sell to anyone in the same way that they purchased knowing they could short term rent. Your priority shouldn't be restricting those that want to invest their life savings into our community so that people can continue to have space to visit our County. But focus on offering ways to open up affordable apartments for our workforce. You continue to want deed restricted property as a solution. We need apartments immediately not in 3 years. Repurpose buildings like Library Frisco and others. Developers are waiting to partner this should be the focus affordable respectable housing for our local work force as soon as possible. Those that are worried about noise can wait for the property managers and police. We all know this is an enforcement issue and that just means govt needs to work harder, partner more and spend more. We are in a recovery time to invest in our community not bring it down further.
